FSI Lifebook T3010D OS installation

by mischa86 / October 23, 2007 12:02 AM PDT

Hej all,

i was gifted a Tablet PC. It's the Lifebook T3010D from Siemens. There is an OS installed but i need to do a new installation. Unfortunately this Tablet PC does not have a CDRom or Floppy drive Sad There are just USB Ports. The offered Boot devices in BIOS are: HDD, CD, Floppy and NIC. My question is: What can i do now unless USB does not appear as bootable device?
I have the DVD with Windows XP Pro Tabelt PC Edition which fits to my Tablet PC...

What is the solution? Does anybody have experience with that?

Thanks in forward!

The Lifebook had an optional CD/DVD drive you used to install the OS. If you are lucky, any USB drive will do.

Which is not an option as it's locked to that other machine. Don't do it.

Just be prepared for it to balk, not activate or "other." It certainly won't have the laptop drivers and will not see any SATA hard disks. Installing Windows is still something of a rite of passage for many.

In reply to: Logo and stuff.

I'm pretty sure that OS will not be a problem.
I just doubt that some external DVD drive will be accepted by the bios.
We will see i will reply again when i tried it!

Thanks for your help so far
