Try rebooting the ipod:
1. Toggle the "Hold" switch back and forth several times.
2. Then, hold the "Menu" button on the click wheel and the center "white button" simultaneously for 6 seconds and it should restart.
3. If that doesn't work, please provide more details such as what you see on the screen.
My son was tranfering his collection to his ipod Mini, got it about half full and stopped to do homework, leaving it charging on the usb port He went to turn it off and found that it wouldn't turn off. He unplugged it and it still would not respond to any controls. I double checked that the hold button was off, then connected it and attempted to work the controls (no luck) then tried with the hold in lock with the same result. Any ideas would be wonderful.
My thanks,
