Frontpage publish problem

Hi. I am a bit new to this, and after struggling to work up a web site feel that it is finally ready to "publish", but when attempting to send files to the server, I get a message that the server does not support frontpage file extensions, and the files are not sent. The manual says the program will automatically convert to FTP or some such, which does not happen. Attempts to use WS_FTP also failed. Please explain the process to actually get this thing to work. What is the trick? Surely microsoft would not be able to sell a completely unusable program for web design. Could I copy the files to a diferent wysiwyg? Is there a way to convert the files to regular .htm files? Do I need to scrap the entire project and start new with a lot of charts listing the html tags and just write out the entire code myself? I'm really frustrated with this stuff and could use some help.
Thanks

If you couldn't use WSFTP, then its time to call your web hosting support and get the step by step. I can't know it since it may vary from host to host.

You also didn't supply an error message. The Frontpage extensions messages is again something you arrange with your host.

You need to have a chat with your web host.

Give me your host and we can research the problem together and see if your host even supplies the frontpage extensions. If you are thinking about switching the host because they don't, go ahead and try www.totalchoicehosting.com. I've been using them for a while now and they are great- this is my personal recommendation.

First, checkout if your web host supports frontpage extensions.
If it does not, then you must switch to another web host that supports it.

If it does, do the following:
1. login to your webhost account.
2. look for the frontpage extension icon (there should be one) and click on it. You should find a button to activate the frontpage extension.
3. log out.

You should now be able to publish your website using Front Page.

Hi, I had the same problem using Netzero Hi speed. The correction to my instance was disabling the hi speed feature of my ISP. Worked fine at normal speed.
