Question

Front panel not working.

Jan 30, 2015 2:56PM PST

Can someone tell me whats the problem here.

Before when i on the front panel button every fan works on cpu except the video card. its fan doesnt turn on but it gets warm for about a minute or two. Out of my frustration i forgot to turn off the power supply before removing the front panel pins in the motherboard.

I put the front panel pins in their respective spot. but now when i Turn on my power supply the fan spins a little even though i wast pressing the front panel power on button. but i press the front panel button it doesnt turn it on. What is the problem here? could it the Mother board?

Motherboard is MSI970A

Try this and see what happens

Disconnect all pins from the front panel connections on the MB. Momentarily short the two that are labeled for the power switch. See if the PC powers up. If not, watch to see if the fans give a little twitch. Fans that start/stop immediately when the PS tries to start indicate that the PS has detected a problem with the load and further troubleshooting is required to determine if it's the PS or something to which it's connected.
