War and the Iraq War?

Bush already had a plan to get out of the Viet Nam War.

''Worst Joke Wednesday''
by Josh K / November 17, 2005 2:52 AM PST

It's kind of a fading tradition here. Used to be that Wednesdays were the day for posting the most awful jokes you could find and we'd informally vote on a winner. The subject line would be ''WJW: The Farmer'' or whatever so you'd know which threads contained the bad jokes.

I'm guessing that this is just Evie's way of saying she didn't think the joke was funny.

If you really think about it, it isn't the least bit funny.

And there you have the difference between the Liberal and
by Ziks511 / November 17, 2005 5:15 PM PST

the Conservative mindset in a nutshell. We liberals have read your "jokes" about Hilary, and the Democrats, or specific Democrats, or specific people you don't like without making an issue of your clearly deficient sense of humor. But when a Conservative takes umbrage at a joke, then everyone is in the line of fire.

Well folks, by and large your jokes are unfunny to many of us, and often offensive and have been removed, as was mine, despite the fact that it didn't mention Michael Jackson, or the court case or anything that might have happened there. As I pointed out then, the reason it was a good joke was that it all happened in your mind. It was your associations that made the joke work, nothing was explicit. So you removed a joke because of the thoughts it created in your own minds. A better definition of free speech or its absence I cannot conceive. And you Cons failed the test. Are you getting enough Irony in your diet? Or is your lack of humor genetic?

Thanks for the hissy fit though, That really is funny.

Um, your "joke" is still here.
by EdH / November 17, 2005 7:22 PM PST

Why do you claim it was removed?

And it's stupid, not funny. Nor is your hissy fit.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
