How do you make an artificial leg for a flightless bird? You ask a movie studio special effects unit.
Weta did its magic for wellington Zoo recently and used the techniques they use for special effects to let one of New Zealands endangered birds A brown kiwi called Tahi an artificial leg
The hope is that if He can walk, He can breed. And with our national bird on the endangered list we needed to do all we could to help Tahi (maori for One) do his bit to breed more kiwis.
