Friends, relatives, getting email stating that you sent them a worm/virus....TIP to help prevent.

Believe you already know about how these Trojans/worms can get your address book and
mail out stuff without you knowing. How about asking your friends and relatives to quit broadcasting your email address that can travel all around the US (or world). We all get
emails with jokes or info contained therein and they come as a "Forward" or "FWD" with
many, many email addresses listed where that email has 'gone before'. So, often you just click
'Forward' and send it on to your friends/relatives. Ahhhh what an opportunity to collect Addy's
and give/sell to spammers also.

So.....why not just delete all those addresses when you forward, and so as to not broadcast your friends/neighbors addresses to others who will probably just forward on to the world, put their address in the BCC instead of the To element. Also ask them to put your address in BCC on those emails so as not to broadcast your addy.

Course' you people who use AOL.....ugh......
When you send 'Forward' email to people outside of AOL it arrives as a email attachment.
I deleted all email attachments, and just can't convince my sister-in-law to send her AOL 'Forwards' to me by copy/paste in a new email, so I ignore them and delete. Wink

No wonder I can't get my friend to stop sending me forwarded AOL email with all the former addresses! I suggested that he delete them before forwarding these kind of email to me, but to no avail. He kept telling me that he tried to, but couldn't accomplish what I asked him to do. I will send him your instructions and hope he follows it.

Thanks for the info. Happy
