I know im the wrong forum but ME doesn't get looked at much anymore .I need to know this so as to reinstall XP upgrade retail ed . Thought you long timers in this forum would be able to help me . I have a full retail ver.of ME .IT comes with 2 discs . 1-OS 2-Boot floppy . MY boot floppy was erased . I can't reinstall ME without this boot floppy on an empty drive . Has anyone used anything from bootdisc.com?? or any other site for this such thing . I know MS probably still has some around but try to buy one . Dave

Thanks for all the help out there . Found out that an XP upgrade disc doesn't need a OS on HDD to install but just have the old ME disc ready when XP upgrade asks for it . AND no this not a self startup ME disc for ME install of ME .BUT W XP saw that the right one was in other tray and YES ,YES it installed XP on my empty HD .It's great to have the PC running again .

The CD should be bootable

The Windows Me install CD should be bootable itself, assuming your system is capable of booting from a CD. And considering I had a 486 that could boot from CDs, I would be very surprised if your system could not do this.
