freezing DIM 3000

by addictfree / March 21, 2009 1:19 AM PDT

I bought a desktop Dell version 2002 service pk. (3) which is using a Windows XP home edition Pentium (R) 4cpu for some reason I will be working away and then the machine will not respond to any command. A error box comes up asking me if I want it sent to microsoft and then I need to work at getting it back to responding. Ether by turning the computer off and starting over again or alt control delete and the task manager comes up and I start closing programs until I am back to just my desktop page showing. Am I missing a driver or update? I have not had any formal training on the computer and I have just been learning as I go. I really enjoy this computer even though in terms of new computers it is a few years old but I cannnot afford another one and I am amazed daily with what this computer can do. There must be a way to fix this, does anyone have any suggestions that someone not that computer savvy can follow to correct this Thanks! Addictfree

Hi I did a major clean up about 6 months ago. It is time for another and I am going to run out and get the supplies I need and then clean and blow the dust out of this computer and screen. Thanks for the speedy reply. Addictfree!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
