Question

Freeing Up Space on HP Laptop

Sep 15, 2018 4:04PM PDT

Around a year ago, I purchased an HP laptop (model 11-y003na). I have mainly used it to browse the internet, though I also installed the Discord and iTunes programs. Somehow, however, the hard drive has almost been filled up - it has a capacity of 27 GB, and at time of writing only 677 MB is free. Every time I switch the computer on, it begins to bark at me about installing updates and using external drives to free up space, but I have attached USB drives with more than enough space and it doesn't seem to do anything - the computer is aware that they are there but doesn't seem to be able to do anything about that.

I'd really appreciate any advice on how to free up space on my laptop, and get it functioning properly. Any and all help is appreciated.

"32 GB eMMC"

Basically not a full up PC and even if you installed some USB drive, I find folk find it too much work to install apps and data on some USB drive. It also tends to run even slower and well, I'd start shopping for a machine with a bigger drive.
