Free vs pay; a real life cnet example

by lverbier / August 3, 2006 7:14 PM PDT

Would you pay for this ?

Last year, Cnet did a review of Pinnacle Studio 10 and gave it a 7.1 score. The users gave an average score of 1.6 and the Pinnacle support logs show why. You can still find the review and see for yourself.

Studio 10 was so poor it didn't even start to work and it was obvious the reviewer couldn't have even loaded the program. We emailed Cnet but they never changed a thing.

If I had paid for Cnet, I would have got my money back. As it is free, I dip in and out of it occasionally but no way do I rely on it.

Free is OK but don't rely on it
