Free scanning program

Apr 9, 2005 5:42PM PDT

Is there a free scanning program that will translate the document I have in the scanner to words for wordpad or some other program. Instead of typing all the words, I could just scan the document.

Thanks

Rick

Do a Google search for free OCR software and see what you find.

A free OCR program is hard to come by, but there is at least one workable solution:

OmniFormat in conjuntion with PdfSuite are available from Software995, are available in download.com.

There is some advertising imbedded in the programs.

Simple OCR Freeware. I scanned a complete very old and discoloured book with this program, needed little manual correction.
