Look for Trial Pay Freebies
by Dick Humfrey / March 1, 2009 10:14 AM PST

Browse this link re TrialPay
http://www.trialpay.com/

Mountain View, Calif.-based TrialPay offers just that kind of a deal, which it bills as a win-win-win for consumers, merchants and advertisers. It probably won't change your buying habits dramatically, but it could help you get a (sort of) free lunch.

Here's how it works: Let's say you're perusing a movie ticket Web site. If that site is working with TrialPay, you might be presented with the option to get tickets not by paying for them directly, but simply by completing a purchase or trial offer with another company. If you're game, you can click to see a list of participating companies, such as Starbucks or Netflix. And if you agree you'll receive e-mailed instructions on how to get your free movie tickets.

Thanks for that ****. Came across that but it seemed in general the articles were more expensive than the software on first glance.
I amy look a bit deeper later.

Most we read on these forums ...
by Kees Bakker / March 3, 2009 7:50 AM PST

about registry cleaners/repairers is a cry for help from people who used one and now are looking for a way to repair their system to a working state because they are crippled.

So certainly I personally am NOT looking for registry repair software. My registry needs no repair. Does yours? How do you know?

Check your startup programs ..

In reply to: free reg cleaner

in Start>Run>MSCONFIG, startup tab.

And you might have a look at the the services running in Start>Run>Services.msc, but most that are automatic are needed.

A thorough malware-check wouldn't harm either.

Its kind of you to go to this trouble Kees and I thank you for it.
I suspect Lavasoft slowed it down somewhat, but only to a small degree. I run my startup with only AVG. now.
still takes three Mins to crank itself up. Recently downloaded Adobe9 with flash player. That did not help at all so dumped the player for a bit ('twas giving minor problems). Also noted on checking my MS update (check your updates) that SP3 had a *failed against it so reloaded that.

FYI I am a retired field engineer.

EX MF-PC/Networks/Install/Maintain/Repair/upgrade/whatever.

I was just putting out a flyer so see what's out there these days.

If no one else has any IP I guess we can close this?

Regs.,
John
