Free DVD Burning Software

Nov 29, 2005 8:25AM PST

I've just got a new DVD burner and wanted to ensure that I download software which will allow me to play burned DVDs on my normal DVD player- can anyone suggest a good free one or offer any advice- thank you very much

I've yet to discover such software to make any DVD that will play on the Samsung dv8500.

....

....

In other words, while I have great luck with making DVDs that play on most players, I've yet to find one that will fix players that reject recorded DVD media.

well what program do u use to make DVDs. im looking at getting sony vegas studio + dvd. do you think that is good? Im sick of trying to capture and edit and then make a dvd that plays on normal dvd plyers just for it not to work. i need a good stable program that does this. ive read that roxio easy media creator 8 has a bunch of bugs in it, but i have not read anything bad about sony vegas studio. im not very good with video formats and terms, i just want to be able to edit and creat a dvd to play on my tv.

thanks,

While I have good luck here, many will not accept that some DVD players will never play recorded media. They think it's the DVD creation software.

When someone claims that DVDMAGICO (vapor product) will fix it, I'll try it. Till then I'll use the Sony Vegas at work and Ulead, DVDSANTA at home.

well i got it for christmas and made a dvd that same day, with a menu and all. it is very stabel and easy to use. i was worried about the burning of a DVD that would work in normal dvd player too. i read lots of reviews and found that almost all capture, edit, and burn programs are buggy. however sony has not hung up once and burn works every time.

i have a windows xp media center pc. BUT i think it only works with miniDV cameras and dv cameras. so check on that.
