FREE DRIVERS for WRT54GS Lilnksys Router?

by Chigal48 / October 27, 2012 4:38 AM PDT

I NEED FREE DRIVER SOFTWARE for the Linksys Router. I talked to CISCO and they no longer have the drivers.
Would anyone know where I can get the software/disk without paying an arm and a leg?
I think it says a lot about a company when they don't support their devices after a certain time. Bummer.

There is firmware available for the router itself, but in general you do not upgrade unless you are aware of a specific firmware issue.

You can configure the router (e.g. wireless SSID, password) without any special software. Just type 192.168.1.1 into your browser's address bar. When prompted, leave the username field blank and type admin for the password. You will then have access to all the router's configuration settings.

No drivers necessary for a router. Why do you say you need one?
And, by the way, why does it have to be free?
