Question

FREE Backup software that will also backup files 'in use'

May 8, 2012 8:40AM PDT

Have been looking for a FREE backup or mirroring program that will backup entire drive where all data resides including files that are 'in use' at the time.
Have read until I feel like I am going insane and cross-eyed. Is there such a program like this to be found?
If so, any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

SONY VAIO PCV-RX650
Windows XP Home
1GB system memory ATI Radeon 9250 GPU w/256MB dedicated memory
80GB Primary HD w/ 30GB free space
230GB Secondary HD with free space

Never found any.

I have however done things like schedule backups that autologoff the user, reboot then backup.

But there is no way to assure that a backup of an inuse file would be valid. I wonder if you thought this through. I know I did.
