FrankQTran, Does Drive Image 7 start with boot up like GoBack does and

does it use as much hard drive space. Also, thinking of purchasing Win XP for the two home PC's. Do you recommend the home edition version or professional edition? What are the advantages of the professional addition? And I need a good cleaning program for WinXP. My Norton Clean Sweep is not compatible with WinXP. Any recommendations here? Sorry to have so many questions....many thanks,
Kay

I have no idea with drive image.
Windows XP and Pro are very similar, pro has more security that ive heard on it... it dosent really matter for home use.

Are toward Ghost and partition magic-never any hiccups and lots of saves, regarding XPpro vs Home, I'm WGM for 1/2 dozen laptops with XP home, and a greater number of desktops with XPpro- and have 4 installations of Pro at home-I will only have Pro for myself-period, and given the option or chance at work I'd do the same on the laptops. With many new box purchases now- the difference between Home and pro is a no charge upgrade...

Hi Kay,

Drive Image 7 is really advance software. First, it required you to install MS .Net (DOT NET) and 66MB for itself. I use Drive Image 7 because I had an external drive (120GB) to save the image of all 4 system I have on it for restore purpose. Beside the restore feature inside Windows, it has another feature called PQRE (load the mini-WinXP) from it's CD.

In your case (single computer user), I would recommend:

1. Get Norton Systemworks Prof. 2003 (not 2004) which including Norton GHOST (Drive clone/image) and very easy to restore thru bootable floppy disk.

2. If you insist to have Drive Image, I would recommend Drive Image 6 (aka Drive Image 2002). This software also has a feature to restore from floppy disk.

You asking for good cleaning program, if you don't want NSW 2003, I would recommend a trialware called Add/Remove Plus 2004. A very small program (less than 1MB) and very handy.
