Question

Frame drops

i bought a new Acer Predator Helios 300 then i played my first game of paladins on it it gave me 175 fps which is max for the game after that whenever i play i get 60 fps no matter what i try tried turning v sync on off and sorts of other stuff no change

yes its only 60hz but how come i once get 175 then directly 60 and then i m stuck with 60
and is it even possible for a 60 hz monitor to get higher fps than 60?

I never bother to try for more FPS. These frames are not shown and lost (some say dropped.)

I find it better to cap the frame rate to what my monitor's capability is which lets me get more detail, more pixels, more colors and most of all let's the GPU free up resources and react faster. A lot of gamers don't know this.
