Question

FPS drop after format

Aug 16, 2015 1:55AM PDT

I am using an MSI GT70 OC/OD. I have formatted my laptop. The problem is now I cant even start some games and the ones which do dont run with the same performance as they used to do. Well ofcourse I think it is because of Nvidia driver. I have downloaded the 355.60 version of it. I have also downloaded GeForce Experience. The interesting part is the example: cs:go says "cs:go.exe stopped working" without even starting but DyingLight run at 3-4 fps. In this case I hesitate if the problem is fps because DyingLight should be much more harder to run. Thus, I simply cant play any games whether they crash at the beginning or run on so low fps that makes it impossible to play.

Additionally: I have played DyingLight a bit and the terrain was broken. there wasnt a tunnel which there should be and instead the rocks were also broken.

Old Version

Now I have downloaded an older version which used to work fine for Nvidia driver. Still not working. I have absolutely no idea if it will work but I will download Windows 8 one to try.

This must be a driver issue. Did you go back to factory conditions in the MSI prescribed way (that is, from the recovery disks that came with the laptop or that you were invited or instructed to make?).

Factory Disk
Aug 16, 2015 2:04AM PDT

Yes. I have downloaded the drivers on the disk. Well I still dont know if they are compatible with windows 10 because I had them 2 years ago. Anyway I tried them first. Then when it didnt worked I uninstalled them by using Revo. I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver but still nothing.

Formatting and downloading don't look like doing a restore to factory conditions. So let's say your answer to my question is 'no". In that case: better do.

Yes

If the case was that I would say no. I have installed them from the disc which came by the pc. After it didnt worked I have downloaded them from internet. First it was okay but after Nvidia ran some auto commands it got broken down again.

What about all the other PC drivers?

I read about the OS, then Nvidia but not a word about BIOS version, motherboard drivers, etc. Tell all.

Then the news is grim.

If you did a fresh Windows install and all the rest is up to date the news is it must be hardware. Unless you broke out of jail and installed drivers other than from the makers web page. Sorry to read what a nice laptop is now in need of repair.

Repair

Yeah! It was so good for gaming I'll be pretty sad if its caused because of a physical damage. Now I let the service make the magic. May need a new computer. We'll see.
