Forum Vendors?

Mar 14, 2005 5:42AM PST

Any good recommendations for vendors which can host a forum and allow the customer to apply their branding, design and serve ads?

I am aware of Prospero but are there others we should consider?

thanks!

Not really...

Thanks for the reply, however, we are looking for a vender which can HOST, not something which we need to install, especially not PHP.

Then you would be a godaddy reseller.

Of course, never reveal such. You don't want to know what happens...

We are not looking for a webhost. We are seeking a vender which offers a full forum package however, with an interface that we can apply our styles and serve our own ads. We want that experienced vender to serve just the forums only and be responsible for it fully operating. I don't have someone on staff to be a point for having something internally.

thanks.

That's godaddy for you.

You seem to want some click here type of system, so that's the type of host you'll find.

Take 2

Sorry, perhaps I am not clear enough. I do appreciate you taking the time to help.

I don't see where godaddy offers any sort of forum management as an option to their corporate services.

I already have a vender for the ads, we just need the forum host to be able to take our tags.

Most of the forum solutions I have found are PHP based on OUR side. However, I know there must be more venders like Prospero out who do the hosting on their end. I realize they are pricey but we are really looking for an external solution.

thanks again for your help.

Not a well known godaddy offering.

And you didn't find it either. It's simple and from what I read of your writing, you want a no-support on your end solution that you don't host.

This limits you to places and hosts like godaddy. And it's not a big part of their service so you have to dig it out of their commercials and find it.

You are right. Most people will have a geek on their staff to rev up phpBB to their needs. You will have to do more research since I only go two ways about this forum stuff. Fully automatic click and drool (godaddy) or phpBB.

The fully automatic will NEVER make anyone happy since to get to such a state, you get what they offer and that's that. It can't be any other way.
