forum searching

Is it possible to search a forum by phrase? I get the same results whether or not I put the words in quotes.

Thanks,

Unfortunately no...

The forum search does permit boolean operators such as AND and NOT, but it doesn't distinguish between a collection of words and a specific phrase. You may be able to find what you're looking for by using Google or Yahoo search, however, by entering the phrase you're looking for in quotes followed by site:forums.cnet.com which will limit the search to just these forums. It only searches indexed posts, though, not everything here in the forums, so the results may be limited.

I tried that a while back and failed miserably, finding only boolean operations to work. Thanks for the head-up on that one!

Works for most searches and some it doesn't.
