As of this post, my message marking is not working in SE. Tried refreshing etc. and still, the same thread comes up with a red dot and the same new post I've "read" several times now remains unread.
I do like the "in reply to" link ![]()

... newer short threads are coming up fine. An older one with 100 posts is not marking read, AND it isn't displaying anywhere near the entire 100 posts on the page.
Evie ![]()
if that what you are referring to.
Not too sure what back to top of page means and where it would exist. Please clarify for me Rod.
Thanks!
thread to bring you to the top of the page, such as hitting the "home" key or "page up" key that doesn't always work for some people for some reason Lee. Someone made that suggestion a while back in this forum. I would probably use that one myself but I will probably never use the ones that are down there now such as "next message" but maybe others would use it. BUT I just noticed something else. The FOURM TIP is gone unless I'm blind and don't see it. It was bad enough before that about 75% of the posters didn't see it but now it's not even there. It SHOULD be in BIG bold RED letters right above the subject line. Am I blind here? LOL
I agree. Scrolling down is lousy.
You are replying to this message is lost!
Type size is way too small. And other issues that you have brought up. Poor design! Switcing screens between posting and looking at a full screen of mustard colored blank space before you see your potential post in small typography. What a shame.
All in all?a step backwards for CNET! Shame on you CNET!! :
Too small all of a sudden.
Some of us are old, thank you.
Some of us are over 30!! The eye's are going downhill every year. Larger font size. ![]()
Hold the CTRL key down and click the + or - or roll the scroll wheel of the mouse one or two clicks and get any size you want????????????????????????????? It then stay at that setting until changed again.
I'm a lot older than you, but I can hold the CTRL key and click the thumbwheel. LOL
It was a good size before the change. Now, new colors, link placement I can live with. But I shouldn't have to change my settings because CNet changed theirs. Let them fix it.
everyone. It was fine for me, but had it not been I would have simply changed it. I don't feel that CNET must make mine the correct font size when it is totally adjustable.
I guess the old timers and mods are special. LOL Just kidding.
though, Wayne. It's not ideal, but at least for me it's legible. Wonder what folks with bad eyes say, though...

font size is too small. Changing size in IE makes things crawl and in Firefox creates distortions and overlaps. I'm also not sure about the icon legend being at the bottom but I know them anyway. Also I must read all messages in a thread to make it turn grey. Now to get greedy
. How about allowing marking individual threads as read instead of all discussions?
Is there any way to move the link to the posters profile a bit farther from message link? If I'm not dead on with the mouse I keep pulling up folks profiles. Not that they're not interesting:), I'd rather see the message first. Anyone else have this problem? How about showing the posters name but not link to the profile from there but from within the message instead?
Hi Steve: I've done the same many times. I think your suggestion is a very good one, but I don't know if its a possibility.
