Forum real-time activity Beta Links, Pange Not Found

Aug 27, 2010 8:57AM PDT

I seem to have a consistent error attempting to go to the Forum real-time activity page. I land on this URL saying, Sorry, Page not Found:
http://forums.cnet.com/realtime/?tag=hdr

The link starts as http://forums.cnet.com/realtime

No matter if I click it from the side-bar menu on the left or from the CNET forms main page, I get the same result, page not found, then I refresh, and the page is there just fine, and once there it works great (I really like that feature, hope it sticks around!)

I am running XP Home Edition (SP3)Ver 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 with IE8 Ver. 8.0.6001.18702IC, on a Dell A363N.

Everything is up to date on my PC and this is the only page on the site that acts that way, sorry if this issue was posted on already, I did not see it.

It is not you.

The same happens to me as well. Rarely will Real-Time work for me the first time and I have to refresh once or sometimes twice.

Even then, when I manage to get it to display correctly, I hit Refresh again immediately as I have noticed that the activity doesn't always update if I don't.

This may be lost when the new forum software is introduced very soon. I am fighting a rear-guard battle to keep it and am hopeful my bribes to Lee and team will be sufficient to retain it. Devil

Glad To Hear You Are Pulling For It

I only recently checked it out but really like it, I have had mixed results on the auto refresh also, but it usually works. Have you got that Take a Breather message or whatever it says asking if you want to keep monitoring or leave? I guess that is to help manage traffic for folks that forget they have it open on a tab or something.

Anyway, I hope it stays, even if I have to refresh it to get there, kind of like the secret knock to get into a speak-easy, pun intended Happy
