Oct 27, 2006 10:00PM PDT

Hardware: Sony Vaio model PCG-K20P
Fantom FD Premier 260 GB External harddrive.
OS Windows XP Professional
PROBLEM: I am unable to create a NTFS partition on the External drive. I tried Windows disk management and Partition Magic. In both cases The process ends with an error. The FAT32 partitions - no problem.

Not that it didn't work but others seem to have issues. Did you try removing what partitions were on said drive then creating then formatting?

No error messages means all the clues are on your side but also many errors are caused by an owner install XP without all the updates and usually they miss installing motherboard drivers.

Another repeating error is using the front USB ports. Hint? Use the rear ports.
