Format for XP

Jan 2, 2005 1:32AM PST

I would like to format my hard drive. I am currently running WinXP and want to put WinXP back on when I format. I know when you first install XP it wants you to register so you can use XP. If you re-install using the same XP disk will you have a problem when you register? (ie Microsoft telling you that that XP disk has already been registerd)

You do NOT have to register XP, but you do have to Activate it. Two entirely different things.

If you don't make any major hardware changes it is unlikely that you will have to reactivate. If you do, it will tell you and give you the phone number to call to activate. No problem at all.
