If you reference this guide to installing Windows XP from scratch, see #10b and the associated screenshot. When you reach that point you can delete the partition and then create a new one, effectively wiping all of your data. You will then be presented with the option of performing a quick or complete format...you're choice.
Hope this helps,
John
Hi Ive been trying to wipe my hard drive but its not working. I have reinstalled Windows xp home 3 times but my c drive wont format. I was told the set up from the cd will format the drive but its not working. I know that i must be doing somthing wrong because it should format the drive with a reinstall right? I have tried to repair option but that doesent work either. I have a 40 gig HD with 37 gig used and 4 free space.i have a compact p4 EVO.
