New Features Increase Ability to Prevent Widespread Infection and Maintain Productivity

SAN MATEO, Calif. - February 4, 2004 - ForeScout Technologies, Inc. announced today the release of its WormScout 3.0 - a leading solution for suppressing the spread of self-propagating worms. The new enhancements give WormScout increased ability to help business operations run normally as worm infections are automatically identified, immediately contained and eliminated.

Highlights of the new product include Bi-directional Protection, which prevents critical network cells both from infecting the rest of the network and becoming infected themselves. ForeScout's unique Worm Slowdown Mechanism locks infected machines in static dialogue to minimize their draw of network resources and their attempts to spread within vulnerable network cells. In addition, new Port Blocking capabilities allow WormScout to block only services attempting to spread worms, so even infected users can maintain productivity while the attacks are contained.
