I can help you out in regards to your question, though:
"Does anyone know of a good, free hosting service that I can use to upload a photo so I can use it on a forum? I'm looking for a simple photo uploader that allows me to link to the url on the server. FTP access would be great but not necessary."

The one I use most often is, which for convenience sake also has a downloadable tool so you can upload pictures directly from your desktop. is another one you may want to consider, though they require free registration.
