General discussion

For those that can't install firefox on their machines

Dec 1, 2005 2:40PM PST

This popped into my head when I heard Tom say that his IE crashed and he couldn't install firefox on his machine.

It's called Portable Firefox. It runs from a usb drive or any portable device and keeps everything that you need. Here's the URL
http://johnhaller.com/jh/mozilla/portable_firefox/

It's at 1.0.7 right now but the site says that 1.5 is "released Real Soon Now?... this week."

As far as I know this is windows only. There is a script that lets mac users use it but its not fully functional, found here
http://www.theplaceforitall.com/portablefirefox/

The site has a few other portable apps, you should check it out.

Maybe the CNET IT guys need to BUZZ OFF??? lol, just kidding. I completely understand why they do that, unless you guys are the only ones who use that studio...then I'd get worried, lol

Now you can download Protable Firefox from your network, but no need to install! And no need for functioning USB!! WOO HOO!!! Happy
BTW, any FF installation can be converted to portable form, just go here http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/tips

it's somewhere in the middle of the page, Run Firefox from Removable media.

Hey, do you guys have BOsFH over there? I'd like to say hi. I was one Wink
