Jonah ...

... you don't drag with the mouse.

Do a single click, then let go and move with the mouse. Then do another single click to "drop" it there.

You should be able to pick up an item, place it and click to let go.
Dec 13, 2003 12:11PM PST

I'm using Opera 7.03 but regardless of which version of Opera or which browser you use they are all working the same way at this site (an unusual way). You have to click after placing the item in order for the cursor to let go of it.

Are you saying that you can't even pick up and move an item?

Hi Jonah,

I have v. 7.11 that is generally only used for SE and configured for read/unread. I don't know if it matters, but under Quick Preferences I have it "Identify as IE 6.0".

In any case, I click once and release over an object
Move the mouse to float the object
Click once more and release to fix the object in the new place.

Hope you get it working!

I'm stumped then ...
Dec 14, 2003 12:17AM PST

.... are you sure you're not trying to drag with the mouse like in FreeCell or Spider?

Anyways, I get some error about not being able to load Beatnik which I have gotten a few times with other browsers also at other sites. No idea what it is, but it didn't seem to effect it's function.

Hope you can figure this out. I know even if it's not a life changing thing, it sure is frustrating when things don't work. Since I only generally use Opera for this site -- it was an error to go to that site by clicking on it rather than c&p the addy into my other more security consciously configured browser -- I have all the stuff enabled in preferences except for pop up windows. Maybe it's one of those that's messing with your capabilities?

it may be Opera

but the fat lady sure ain't sung yet Happy

it's not a biggy, but as you say, "frustrating"

thanks Evie

I shouldn't do this but maybe you will look before reacting this time--one can always hope Plain.

http://www.littleraffles.com/ is another site that might interest you and at the very bottomof the page is a downloadable 1.9 meg executable for decorating a tree.
