... still not in the came league as calling a woman the "c-word". Although somewhat similar to the neocon slur, that try as you may to ignore it, is code for Jewish conservative (Zionist shill for Israel, yada, yada). There is far more attacking/hatred based on race, ethnicity, gender, etc. coming from the left.
Maybe not as insulting as the C word but insulting nonetheless.
Thanks.
... it's apropos of an unflattering label. If you want to buy into Moore's propaganda, don't be surprised if the term Mooreon applies!
Still, HARDLY even on the same planet as calling a woman the "c" word to counter her opinions!
....that Right Wingnuts is also apropos of an unflattering label. I'm sure you won't mind if the same "clever play on words" is used to describe you, right?
Nazi, bigot, etc. So yeah, I don't mind being called a nut by the left wing nuts at all.
... cuz I'm secure that I'm not a wingnut
Being conservative doesn't draw one's intelligence into question. Buying Moore's garbage, unfortunately, does.
personal irrelevant slurs with relatively harmless terms used to describe larger groups. Mooreons is the latter, calling a woman "to her face" a "c_nt" is the former.
Read Evie's post again and maybe look at her links.
And of course lefties call righties all the time, probably more often than the reverse.
But look at some of the other names your guys like to spew around.
Wow!
I think both sides do it and both sink pretty low at times. You seem to think the side you're not on is worse than the side you are on. That is a matter of perception, and not a matter of fact.
is that some things are much more offensive than others.
And yes, "your side" IS a much worse offender. Look around. Much more inclined to use obscenity and abuse for instance. It's pretty obvious. Very easy to find hate from the left on the internet. Sometimes it seems like all there is from the left.
... or Bush supporters right wingnuts to your heart's content. Doesn't bother me a bit, because I'm not a nut, and it's not inflammatory or accusatory like calling us Nazis or bigots, etc.
Why does the term Moore-on bother you?
I find MOST liberal baloney insulting, but calling people Nazis, etc. is far more insulting than the usual.
"Michael Moore-ons" is so tame it hardly qualifies.
... Clintonistas -- which may have some insulting quality to it, but is even used by some Clinton supporters so it seems more like a play on words that caught on. Another one would be Bushies which has its own insulting quality (when used by the likes of Ivins et.al.) but again is used by Bush supporters. Not so much a play on words, but a similar.
I can't see how Josh can't see the difference between a take reference to Moore-ons as a group, and the hate-villed profanity-laced invective hurled at Malkin PERSONALLY.
There's a huge difference between using choice words (like absurd, idiotic, etc.) to describe someone's actions you disagree with, and turning to attacking them personally in the manner these "fans" did. This is over allowing military recruiters on campus. DEBATE that you IDIOTS! Calling Malkin the most derogatory, hateful terms you can come up with doesn't impress anyone, and does nothing to bolster your side of the debate!

Nazis, racists, Taliban, etc. etc. etc. on and on without end...
Give me a break.
It goes both ways and it really gets tiresome, and I mean from both sides of the fence![]()
Anyone feigning shock and dismay over the language or level of discourse coming from the other side of the fence needs to take a look in their own backyard.
on your side of the fence by far. Be a little bit honest. Look at all the hate emenating from the left. It's amazingly lop-sided.
The sheer volume, persistence, vehemence and obscene vitriol is much worse from the left. If you want to fool yourself that it's otherwise, be my guest.
to all of you who have posted above in regard to "your side is smellier than my side": Both sides stink to high heaven when it comes down to name-calling and finger-pointing.
The posts here in SE prove this, IMO, completely. There are some of you here that support the "pot calling the kettle black" adage to the point that in the dictionary this forum could be the example.
I care about y'all alot, but I don't think that any of you have a leg to stand on in regard to who badmouths who the most or the worst! Politics, religion, sex, whatever - both sides of the fence are "smelly."
I have my own opinions about all of these issues, but there are very few here that could give me pause to reflect on their "side" as they bash against the walls trying to make a point - and that includes many that appear to have the same opinion as mine.
