For Josh

Very glad you brought that up about the "Whitehouse" link I posted. I never noticed that.

Maybe best you DELETE it off the Forum altogether. Thats a very easy mistake to make, com &.org

You can reach the Whitehouse from the "defendamerica" Link I posted. {Bottom left corner under transcripts}

I don't know how to DELETE it off the forum, but I'm sure you Do. get rid of it.

Hi G:

I posted it as an alert message, not to encourage people to visit that other site. If the moderators would like me to delete the post, I will be glad to do so.

Hi Josh
Yes, I understand that and glad you did. I sent a request using the offensive message bar to delete it about 3 hrs ago.

Theres a drastic diff. in results between .org vs .com, very easy to mistype if someone where to type it in, as MO pointed out. and should'nt be on here.

Cannot believe this is allowed to be a site using the white house as bait. I unlocked my PC and was able to get on. Now, I'm not a lily white puritan or sheltered kid, but this stuff, forget it. As you said before its going to be a nasty campaign.

If it does not get deleted, see what you can do.

Thanks

Dear G Rolway and Josh

Now that the thread has gone, why don't we re-post as appropriate and then get them to delete this one since we are all agreed on best intentions?

What do you think?

Regards
Mo

Sounds good to me MO. I have a feeling Josh has mis-interrupted my replys after reading Toni's because he deleted his post.

I wanted MY Post deleted, not yours Josh. I have a great deal of respect for both of you and I will have to learn not to use "it" or "that" and refer to these items by name.

Thanks

No problem here, G. I would have been perfectly OK with deleting my post.

Wanna start a thread on the A-Rod deal? Even my wife and I are wincing at this one. We both know they did it to keep the Red Sox from getting him. Maybe we'll become Astros fans. Pettitte is a class act; even a Sox fan can't dispute that!

Hi Josh:

Hmmmm. Does look pretty bleak for the Sox. Trot Nixon is on board for another 3 yrs. It looks like they'll keep Manny. Too soon to tell. I'm going to still hang in there. Its all about money, I guess.

By the way, I remember something about the Babe's Piano being tossed in a lake or pond. I wonder if it was ever found. Make a nice entry piece for Fenway.

A-Rod and Manny are the two most overpaid players in the game. The big difference between the two, of course, is that A-Rod doesn't have an attitude problem. He may not make the best choices (going for the big bucks rather than a contending team) but at least he never left his A-game at home even for the Rangers.

I doubt the Red Sox will be able to unload Manny. The only team that could afford that contract is the Yankees and there's just no way it'll happen, and not just because of the incident during the ALCS.

I remember the piano story too. I'm sure someone has tried a seance or two as well. Happy

Ha, Ha, I'm going to nominate you Josh for SE Sports Commentator. Will watch for the Pichers Report.
You are right about Manny, but he sure can wack the ball out, (when hes hot}. And good in the outfield considering his size.
Ivie mentioned Jeter. Wish there were more like him.

Bernie Williams is another good guy. Never fights with umpires, his manager or other players, just goes out there and does his job as best he can. In fact he's so un-controversial that ESPN recently listed him among the "10 most boring athletes." It's a shame that his defensive skills have deteriorated to the point that he may end up as DH this year, especially since his likely replacement in the outfield is Kenny Lofton, a crybaby who yells at the umpires every time he makes an out.

Well, at least the Yankees still have Jeter as Captain and he remains at short. But I miss Pettitte already Sad

Evie (and Josh) -- the remaining singles (after record seasons ticket sales) sold out in fifteen minutes.

Amazing what the addition of two players can do, isn't it?
Feb 16, 2004 12:47AM PST

If Clemens stays healthy and strong, watch out for this team. They can easily win their division and then who knows. The Braves are in decline, and Arizona just got rid of half the duo that won their 2001 world championship. Steroid testing means that Barry Bonds will "change his diet and exercise regimen to increase his flexibility as he gets older" and lose some weight and hit a lot fewer home runs this year.

Astros (with Pettitte and Clemens) vs. Yankees in the '04 World Series? Wow.

Jeter, as captain, ought to move himself

to third. A Rod is a better SS with better range.

Actually he'd be better off at 2nd. You need more range at 3B than you do at SS. I heard last night that A-Rod had someone call Jeter a few months ago (they've been on the outs ever since A-Rod said some unkind things about him in an interview), and had this friend ask Jeter if he'd be willing to move to 3B should A-Rod come to the Yankees. Jeter basically told the friend to tell A-Rod what he could do with 3B. Wink

I think it's about more than sheer ability. Jeter is the team captain and the shortstop generally calls the shots in the infield.

Not just win, but win in New York, and win for George
Feb 17, 2004 12:10AM PST

Players for the Yankees are under more pressure than players for any other team in professional sports. It's the biggest market and the team has the most demanding owner in all of sports. Lots of talented players have declined to come here for just those reasons, and others have come here and not been able to handle it (e.g. Jeff Weaver).

A-Rod has proven he has the ability. What he hasn't proven is that he has the desire to win. His willingness to accept a lot of money to play for a team that, ironically, was dashing any hopes of winning by signing him, is not indicative of competitive spirit, nor are his frequent references to his personal accomplishments. Contrast that with Derek Jeter, who repeatedly says his personal accomplishments don't matter if the team isn't winning.
