I received the following e-mail from fellow member ctatum1:
Hi,
Read your reply about FireFox, and I will download it just as soon as I
get my system running again. I am trying to backup my data prior to a
pc reload, and I can not find where netscape stores my email. It used
to be in netscape/user..., but nothing is there now...
Thank you for your help in advance!

Ctatum,
Normally I would have replied to you via e-mail, but my Yahoo account seems to be having a problem with sending mail today and it appears you have chosen not to enable the receiving of forum e-mail. (Note: the enabling of this forum feature does not reveal you e-mail address to anyone.) If the following does not solve your problem I'm sure another member will provide alternative solutions.
-------------------------------------------------------
The old Netscape Communicator used to store e-mail in the directory ''local drive:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\profile name\Mail,'' which I believe is where you're looking. However, Netscape 6.0 and 7.0 were designed by the Mozilla Foundation (which went on to develop the Mozilla Suite, and now Firefox), causing the driectory to change. In Windows XP the default directory is ''local drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profile name\random folder name,'' which is the same location Mozilla uses for their other browsers, including Firefox. The only catch is that to view this location you'll have to enable the viewing of hidden files. To do this, go ''tools->folder options->view->show hidden files and folders'' while in Windows Explorer. From there you should be able to copy and paste your e-mails to your choice of removable media prior to wiping your hard drive.
Hope this helps,
John
