General discussion

For 3151jeff about drivers.

Jun 1, 2005 11:38AM PDT

The Windows 2000 CD from microsoft has basic drivers. Hopefully enough for one to get the machine running then you install the drivers from the motherboard maker for their motherboard, then the video card driver from it's maker.

It is that simple.

Sort of.

If it is an IBM, then it would have a model number. No offense, but why isn't that in you post if you wanted others to try to find your drivers?

I really didn't know it was model sensitive. I did tell you I am new at this and I mean new. My total experience other than downloading or operating a company computer with dedicated program is now 8 days old.
I thought that this problem would have some thing to do with a video card, but there does not seem to be one and I am presently checking IBM's web site for any info.

Try Belarc Advisor.

It may reveal the model number.

Did someone strip all the labels off?

Find Belarc Advisor with google.com

I ran belarc and there is lots of info
-model IBM 6059kzu
-ser 78ZKR37
-circuit board 6059kzu
-IN THE MEMORY SLOTS IT LISTS DIMM #O EMPTY and DIMM
#1 256mb should the memory be in #0 slot
-processor 1000meg/ pentium 3/ 32kilobytes primary
memory
cache/ 256 kilobytes secondary memory cache
- all hot fixes done
-display heading..none detected

Is any of this info what I require?
Having trouble with IBM website, found some drivers that might be what I'm after but when I try to download it gets hung up on some ''applet'' application.I have never heard of these and not sure how to proceed

I'm not sure what other download program would be necessary with the windows program. Is there any one other than windows that you suggest?
Again thanks..

That's good. About downloading ...

I don't suggest using any "download accelerators" or such. But that's just my view from having to carve them out of failed systesm.
