Font size problem in Outlook '07

I have Microsoft Outlook 2007 (as part of Office '07) with Windows XP. All the latest updates have been installed. I am having a very frustrating problem and can't seem to figure it out. The problem is that when I type my messages, the font is extremely small. The person that gets the email indicates that it is the correct font size. Under Tools>Options>Mail Format>Stationary and Fonts, everything is set correcty for both new mail messages and replies ie Arial font, regular font style and 14 font size.

Again, when I type a new message or a reply, the font size is more like size 6. I ran the diagnostics program and nothing was wrong. Don't know if I have a corrupt file or something like that. Any suggestions?
