Font size & desktop icons rearranged after booting

Oct 11, 2009 6:44AM PDT

My desktop icons are left-justified and their font sized enlarged after I boot up my Vista/service pack2/64 bit PC. After I right click the desktop to resize the display and then rearrange the icons to my liking, I save it but after booting Vista resorts back to large font and moving my icons back to the left side of my display.

Any thoughts where else my settings are getting altered?

Thanks,
Dan

Is for the ages. Windows for years couldn't lock these in place and still doesn't. The causes are discussed in some million web posts so let's just note that it's one of the endearing or enduring "wish they would fix that" issues.

You didn't do anything wrong.

"It wasn't me" or "It was like that when I turned it on"

Have you considered that someone may have guessed your password and hacked into your computer and left-justified your desktop?

I do this all the time to my co-worker just to drive him nuts. It's working, he runs around accusing everyone and goes ballistic when the printer paper runs out or the ink runs dry. (we empty them on purpose!)

Thanks,

Paul
