Folders do not open

Hi

I cannot open any folders, it crashes whenever I try to access any. Using WinXP Pro.

The folder? Windows Explorer? The computer? Are there any error messages? If so, what are they? How long ago did this start? Have you tried system restore back to when it was working correctly? The more you tell us, the easy it will be for somebody to find a solution.

The folder does not open and the screen will recycle.
everything will disapear and come back, I get the send to microsoft window. explorer.exe

...and have you tried running System Restore?

it started last week.
microsoft says it's ad rotator, I can't get to the control panel to take it off.
ran ad-aware, spybot there is nothing left.
ran in safe mode and there is no ad rotator in the program removal section.
