Folders and files lost their name tags???

Jul 12, 2007 7:17AM PDT

why do a lot of my XP folders and files in them folders seem to have lost their name tags?
In other words it shows the foler but no name underneath it. In an MP3 folder this makes it guesswork as to which files I am picking.

I have to move the cursor over the file and wait for the box to pop up for its details.

Any ideas how to sort this please?

Liam

Where does this problem occur? i.e. Desktop, My Documents folder, My Music folder, etc.

Here's a probable solution.

Liam, If you have the view set to show Thumbnails do the following:
Open the folder to see the thumbnails.
Hold the Shift key down and click on the View button and select Details.
Remove your finger from the Shift key. You now see file names.
Hold the Shift key down and click on the View button and select Thumbnails.
You will now see thumbnails with file names under them.

liam182, I should have said "View" on the upper menu bar instead of "view button". It appears that you have the problem fixed? Is this correct?
