Folder turned into a file

by lise6703 / July 5, 2010 1:05 AM PDT

I have been travelling and saving my pictures to a usb drive, when I got back I tried to open the usb and it told me it was not a valid win32 application. I did manage to open the usb only to see that all my folders had been turned into applications and had the extention.exe after the folder name.

I copied the usb onto my PC and saw that all my jpgs were on the usb and were copied but I just couldn't access them.

I then bought the latest virus software and ran a virus scan, it found a trojan horse virus and deleted a file called explorer.exe however my problem has not been resolved.

Can anyone help please

Have you tried to right click on each folder ...

and RENAMING them by deleting the executable extension of .exe from the folder name? Doing so should make the files accessible again.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
