Folder Details

by dannyh91 / December 13, 2006 5:52 AM PST

I've a very simple question to ask concerning Folder Details. I have my folders in Details mode to allow me to look at the various details, but am unable to input the individual details, eg, I have a folder which has movies that are each in individual folders, and want to put the year they were made into the details. I've got it to display the 'Year' colomn but can't input the year into that colomn.
All help is much appreciated. Seems like the answer should be very simple but is alluding me at the moment.

Many Thanks,
Danny

XP doesn't do that.

I double checked but XP doesn't let you edit or change the dates.

There are however "TOUCH" programs that can change those dates. Examples at http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2176602.php

"In the thousands of hits, what I came up with in my extensive googling
wer3e only the following fully freeware programs, all of which I
installed and none of which perform the stated task.

SetFileDate (freeware stand-alone program):

Property Plus (freeware right-click menu addition):

Date of the Movie

I know that it is manual work, but I woud just create a folder for each movie and give it a name with the information I wanted to view. Also It is possible to rename files as long as I don't change the extension. Thus "Movie abc.mpg" could become "Movie abc 1998.mpg."

Good Luck-1101doc
