Folder Access Denied

by cpmadave / December 3, 2013 12:56 PM PST

SYSTEM: HP Pavilion All-in-One PC; Windows 7.

When trying to delete a folder (photos), I get a window:
Folder Access Denied
with the following message:
"You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this folder" followed by three choices: Continue Skip Cancel

I clicked Continue, and the following window appeared:
Folder Access Denied
with the following message:
"You need permission to perform this action

You require permission from HPDesktop-PC\HP Desktop to make changes to this folder" followed by two choices: Try Again Cancel

I have no idea how to follow thru. Any ideas?

Thanks for any advice.

It's a little complicated.

If you want to skip all the learning about NTFS PERMISSIONS (see google) and more, then boot up a Linux Live CD, find and delete it there. No install required, almost nothing new to learn and it's free.

Fitting a tutorial on NTFS PERMISSIONS and Windows Accounts won't fit here but that message and the tutorials are on the web if you want to start the course on that.

I will definitely attempt to follow your using the Linux option.
I may learn something, using Linux.
