FM Transmitters for an iPod

May 10, 2008 3:51AM PDT

Hey guys, my girlfriend's looking for an FM transmitter for her 80G iPod Classic so she doesn't have to always burn new CDs for her car. My brother has an iTrip that he's really happy with but I was wondering if there were any other valid options out there. I'm looking to keep it under $100 since it's only until she gets a new car in a year or two.
Thanks in advance for your help.

What he has

Yeah, that's the same unit my brother has. It seems to be the best value of all the ones I've found so far. That price is lightyears better than what he paid for his, so I'll definitely keep an eye on it for when it comes back in stock.

I did some quick research online and found the Kensington 33185 which got fantastic reviews from people on Buy.com. Does anyone here have any first-hand experience with this transmitter?

Thanks.

DLO Transpod (at $40 below what I paid):

or the newer Transdock:

An added plus is that it charges and cradles the iPod at the same time. It comes with an extension arm that bends in several places so you can get it to fit wherever your outlet is. The extension arm looks flimsy, but I've had mine for a year and a half and it's held up well. And that's even with a year of pulling it out and putting it away at the end of each day.
