FM Broadcast of in-home computer audio

by BidBlaster21 / December 14, 2008 7:39 AM PST

I want to broadcast my computer audio output (i.e. speaker sound) on a weak FM signal so I can tune in my digital audio at any radio in the house without polluting local radio stations. Any idea where to start or what products are available?

This is the closest thing I've seen which could re-broadcast digital audio files to a FM radio in your home. Let me look around a little more....

It seems like you would have to have a decent little amplifier to do the whole house clearly. Radio Shack believe it or not has been helpful to me in the past with similar issues. Check out the following metafilter thread on this general topic.

I also see some folks have done modifications to the Belkin tunecast to get the job done, albeit not with a PLL tuner.
