1. Cable.
2. Floppy Drive.
3. Motherboard.
If there is a hardware issue, it's one of those. Replace what's bad.
If you got the BIOS settings wrong, then what can I say?

Hi everybody and Happy Autumn,
I have a problem.
I have 3 computers, yesterday an FDD device on my computer couldn't read any hard disks whether it was empty or filled with data so I decided to swap the device with one which was working on another computer, the working device worked on my computer but the FDD device which couldn't read a thing dosn't work properly on the other computer,
when I startup the computer, when the computer checks the devices to see if they all function correctly (before the DOS appears)the message below appears on the screen:
Secondery IDE Channel no 80 conductor cable installed
Floppy Disk(s) fail (40)
Then I have to press F1 to continue to go to Windows.
I have checked all the cables, unplugged and replugged all the cables but nothing, the same message keeps appearing on the screen at startup.
Why does this message appear on the screen at startup?
How can I fix this problem?
Please let me know as soon as posible.
Best Regards,
Marianna
