You could spend a few seconds filling in the Subject title. Please.

Try:
Double-click the SendTo folder to open it, then go to File|New|Shortcut. When the Wizard opens enter A:\ in the "Command line:" box and click Next. When the next window opens the "Select a name for the shortcut" box should have 3 1/2 Floppy (A) in it. Click Finish and the shortcut will then be in the SendTo menu.

Better still, Install

PowerToy (Microsoft item)

available at Download.com and many other sites

Will give you the option to select any folder.

The send to A: (i.e.: floppy drive) will also
get installed. Although I find this and all other
send to items totally useless and idiotic and have
deleted them at:

C:\Windows\SendTo folde

The link to CD-RW drive, a useless item gets
re-generated, so can not be deleted

All I can do is make shortcuts. Can't get it listed in the "send to" menu.

I'm sorry I'm not very smart about this stuff, but what is the SENDTO directory? How do I put it there? If I right click on a file to SEND TO I can't send it to a floppy, it's not there?

Put that shortcut in the SENDTO directory.

In a prior post you noted you were able to create a shortcut to A:

Press Start, Run, type in SENDTO and press enter.

Drop that shortcut in that directory.

Another way to put it there (for more GUI oriented people):
Feb 5, 2004 4:28AM PST

- Open Windows Explorer.
- In the left pane, open Windows folder on c:-drive (by clicking on + next to it).
- Same way, open SendTo folder. You'll see current destinations on the right side.
- Put a diskette in A:-drive.
- Click on A:-drive in left pane in Explorer and drag it to the right pane (still showing all destionations).
- After you release left button, Windows will say something like "Can't copy or move this item to this location. Do you want a shortcut instead"?
- Click yes. It's exactly what you want. Smart program, Windows!

And there's your shortcut in the SendTo folder. And it will appear in the right click menu for a file or folder in Explorer immediately after.

Hope this helps.
