Fleeing and need new host

by carondg / October 10, 2009 2:08 PM PDT

I've been with for several years, following cnet's editor's recommendation. I haven't really had problems with it, but last weekend they "upgraded" their servers and everything for my website has fallen apart. They gave me wrong instructions to fix it and now my site has disappeared (I do have a recent SQL backup).

I need a new host company. A couple that have been recommended are HostRocket, BlueHost, HostMonster, and HostGator. Has anyone had experience with them? Are there others I should look at?

Thanks in advance!

I'm happy to report that stepped up and was able to restore my site. The customer service folks called me a couple of times to get info from me and by the following Monday everything was up and running again. So, my confidence has been renewed. Since they really went out of their way to fix the problem and keep me in the loop, I'll reward them with my continued business.

APlus is nightmare
by michaelw1848 / December 18, 2009 3:09 AM PST

Since their "upgrade" APlus has been nothing but a nightmare. Our site has slowed to a crwal (when it is avaialable at all) and no one there has a clue why our site worked well before the "upgrade" and has been a disaster since. These are not competent people. I give them an F Minus

Anyone recommend a competent and reliable hosting service?
