That's a warranty issue with that board.
Yes you can try disabling the FLOPPY CONTROLLER, that serial port you don't use in the BIOS and hope but I've had to replace motherboards or add PCI FIREWIRE cards when the motherboard can't be changed.
I'm having trouble getting XP to recognise my video camera using a firewire connection. The only change I can think of since I last used the camera is that I flashed my bios a while back to whatever the latest version is.
I tried uninstalling the IEEE1394 Host controller in device manager, then rebooting and letting the system find it and reinstall it. The host controller now has a yellow ! next to it and if I examine the properties for it, the status says:
The device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (Code 12).
So does anyone know if I can go into CMOS and assign the necessary resources? Failing that I guess I could buy a PCI 1394 card.
My system is an advent T9004 - full spec here:
The BIOS flash is the only change I can think of since I last used the camera, there have certainly been no other hardware changes.
