Flash time?...Camera Recommendation Needed

I lost my Cannon Powershot A95. I really loved it. My only complaint is that the time between pictures was too long. I know this is typical with most cameras. I am looking to buy another camera. Any recommendations out there? I am sure what to expect but if such a thing exists, I am looking for a similar camera (must be Cannon) that will allow me take pictures closer together. Any ideas/thoughts about the Powershot SD600 or Canon PowerShot A540.

Canon-nonfash-flash-seconds
A95 - 1.6 - 3.4 seconds
SD600- 1.3 - 1.8 to 3 seconds
A540 - 1.5 - 4 to 6 seconds
A620 - 1.4 - 2 to 3 seconds

Look for the paragraph on "Performance"

Note:
Shot to shot time with the flash active is influenced by how fresh your batteries are and how far you are from your subject.
