Flash not working in Firefox 3.5.7

I re-installed Vista and Firefox 3.5.7 on my Toshiba laptop and anything that requires Adobe Flash Player will not work. I have tried installing the plugin but still can't get it to work. Flash will work in Explorer 8. Can anyone offer any help. I would much rather use Firefox over IE

I would use Adobe's dedicated Flash Uninstaller;

Remove Flash, (it may remove it from IE as well). For good measure, reboot the computer afterwards, then re-install Flash;

Be careful with that 2nd site. I see it now includes a "Free McAfee Security Scan (optional)". You may want to untick that.

I'm having the same problem...

I have Windows XP and am running Firefox 3.5.7. Flash works fine in IE, but not in Firefox. I already tried the dedicated uninstaller and then reinstalled flash, but it still doesn't work.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

deborahlane, Are you installing the proper FlashPlayer for Firefox?

Go to the link below, select your Operating System, click Continue, select Flash Player 10 for Windows - Other Browsers, then click the Agree and install now button.

Fixing the Flash installlation for Firefox

I am using XP (poweruser) with Firefox 3.6 and was having the same problem. When I did the manual install, it said it was successful, but then when I went to the Tools/Add-ons/Plug-ins, Shockwave Flash did not show up. I went to the Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash/ folder and copied the NPSWF32.dll file, then pasted it into the Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/plugins folder. It works now.

Strange that the name didn't come out...

...but the thank you was specifically for the copying and pasting dll file into Program Files.
