My wife has been using the Nike/Phillips PSA mp3 player (the 256mb version) for a little over a year. It has done great in the rain/dust/etc. We live on a farm, so she does most of her running outsite. She trains for marathons, so this mp3 player gets a ton of use.
HOWEVER, the Nike/Phillips mp3 player died the other day. The screen doesn't work anymore, and it won't stop. I really don't think it was from water. The player is sealed up better than any other I've seen.
The reviews on the Sone NW-S23 are steering me clear of that, but I've had VERY good luck with Sony Sport equipment (as far as durability).
I need to get a new mp3 player for her ASAP. I'm leaning toward the RCA Lyra RD2217. I'm just not sure of its durability.
I am looking for a flash-based MP3 player that I can use in the rain. I bought an iaudio U2 which is not weather resistant. The reviews on the ones that may be "water-resistant" (Sony NW-S23, Nike-Philips MP3 Run/Max, and the Rio's-Forge, Cali, Sport) show that they may not be able to withstand the rain. I'm also not interested in those new underwater ones. Anybody have any experience in running in the rain? Thanks.
